* A Note From the Seller: In the Interest of Creating a Real Splash, Chevrolet Unofficially Worked with Vince Piggens and Atlanta Area Dealership Nalley Chevrolet to Create a Racing Campaign that Wouldn't be Directly Linked to Chevrolet. Piggins and Nalley Established the Southern Engineering and Development Company (SEDCO) in Atlanta to Produce Race Ready Chevrolets. The Product was the Black Widow, a 1957 Chevrolet 150 fitted with a Modified Fuel Injected 283 CID V8 Fitted with Fenton Cast Iron Headers, a Close Ratio, 3 Speed Manual Transmission, Special Six-Lug Hubs, a Heavy Duty Suspension and 3.90 Rear Gearing. Experts Agree the 283 was Laying Down Around 315hp. The Lightweight and Cost Effective 150 Had No Backseat, Fixed Rear Windows and was Absolutely the Lightest of the Full Size Chevrolets. The Black Widow was Astonishingly Fast, Proving Itself It's First Time Out at Daytona Speed Week and Then at the IMCA Series in Iowa in February 1957. It Set Records and Took Multiple Wins, Such as 33 of 37 Places at the Flying Mile and More. It Was So Successful that NASCAR Rewrote the Rules in April and Banned Fuel Injected Cars, Requiring Only a Single 4 Barrel Carburetor, Marking the End of the Black Widow Racing in NASCAR. By the Time all was Said and Done, Most Experts Agree Between Seven and 18 Black Widows Were Made, Most Saying Eight, Though No One is Exactly Sure as No Records Were Kept. The 1957 Chevrolet 150 was Built to Replicate the Revered Racers and is Fitted with a 283 CID V8 Engine with a Correct Rochester Fuel Injection System and Solid Lifters, All Backed by a Column Shifted, 3 Speed Manual Transmission and Positraction Rear End. The Chassis is Dialed in With Dual Shocks on Both Rear Wheels, Front and Rear Sway Bars and Six Lug Wheels. It's Finished in Two Tone Black and White Like the Original Black Widows, and the Radio and Back Seat Delete Interior Complements That Color Scheme Well in Silver With Dark Gray Trim and Black Patterning Upon the Upholstery.
