***A note from the seller, Howard "Humpy" Wheeler***

This is a letter to authenticate facts about the 1953 Hudson Hornet “Cars” vehicle. I bought this car from a movie producer's brother in California. It had been in the dry Sierras for a number of years and the body was in excellent shape. Less than 900 of these coupes were made and few are left.
My friend Paul Newman and I were in CARS 1 and 3. He was the voice of Doc, the Hudson I replicated and I was the voice of Tex, the bull horn Cadillac.

I engaged a former fabricator of Dale Earnhardt Sr. to oversee the building of the Hudson. We decided to put a Camaro chassis , front end and 10 bolt Chevy rear end under the car as well as a 350 ci. Chevy engine. Performance shocks were installed. We fabricated a half NASCAR roll bar behind the front seat.

We put 8-inch steel racing wheels with wide Cup-type tires suitable for the street. It has ac, power steering, at, power brakes, Connoly leather seats, Simpson racing belts, etc.

It is fun to drive and kids go crazy when they see it. It was THE hit of the 2018 Great Race. Of the 125 entered it drew the most fans. After the Great Race, a rally from Maine to Florida, we replaced the 625 race engine with the current 350 ci Chevy which has less than 200 miles on it.

After Paul Newman died I dedicated the car to him. Our friendship went back to 1966 when he starred in the movie “Winning.” One of his favorite things to do was come to Charlotte Motor Speedway which I ran for 35 years and drive one of Rick Hendrick's cars or a Legends car I kept there for him.

The Hudson is really fun to drive and since its build has less than 6,000 miles on it with the current motor brand new. It has a NC title.
